Dominican Real Estate Process
It is quite simple to buy real estate in the Dominican Republic. Under Dominican Real Estate law, there are no restrictions on foreigners purchasing a property in the Dominican Republic.
All Dominican real estate transactions follow the Land Registry Law of the Dominican Republic. According to this law, the first and most important step in acquiring a property in the Dominican Republic is a contract-to-purchase, a contract between the Dominican real estate buyer and the Dominican Real Estate seller.
The purchaser will present the signed contract along with a deposit, usually at least 10% of the total real estate purchase. The final step of the whole procedure is the filing with the Title Registrar’s Office of the contract for sale and the certificate of title.
